Starship Supper Club

Starship Lands in London

Posted on 12.13.2012

Upon arriving at the London Marriott County Hall, Rachel quickly started a bath and I ordered champagne and an appetizer. While she was in the bath I noticed that all of our linens were down filled and we are allergic. So I called downstairs to the front desk and asked if we could have our linens changed. I alerted Rachel that someone was coming up to take care of it. The man showed up promptly and began his work. While he was there room service came and went and I was beginning to wonder how long this process was going to take. Obviously Rachel assumed the coast was clear after she heard the hotel room door shut because she appeared naked outside the bathroom door! I thought she was going to faint from embarrassment! I’ll never know if the man saw her through the mirror on the closet but it made us laugh for days.

That night we were exhausted to say the least so we decided to dine at the sushi restaurant in the hotel called OZU. OZU had beautiful views of the London Eye which also happened to be right outside our hotel balcony with Big Ben across the river.

The next morning Rachel asked if it was going to rain that day and if we should bring our umbrella. I said no. It rained ALL day! You know the “look” you get when you are wrong? I got it all day and I also purchased two Tower of London umbrellas.

After our somewhat soggy tour of the Tower of London we slipped into the first nice restaurant we saw in order to escape the weather. It was a spectacular Indian restaurant.

Amazing food and I was forgiven for my inaccurate weather forecast immediately after we had our first sip of a very tasty French white wine. Once we made our way back to our hotel we decided to have a glass of champagne on our balcony while watching the Eye of London. We showered and got ready to go to the London production of Thriller Live. What an amazing show! After the show we took a rickshaw over to a trendy seafood restaurant in the theatre district called J Sheeky.

We dined on some exquisite fish and a delectable watermelon salad with goat cheese while sipping Chassagne Montrachet Cru Saint-Jean. While we were thoroughly enjoying our dining experience I took notice that Ralph Fiennes was sitting a couple of tables over from us. Rachel’s side of the story states that I jumped over six tables flattening an older woman and her husband to talk to him but that’s not how it happened at all...

More soon,
